After finding some sort of bug that got a hold of my Wordpress install, I decided to switch my theme again. After taking this decision, I decided to upgrade “mysql.” One thing let to the other and suddenly I had a mess in my hands. I finally got everything working; I’m slimming down my content and making sure that ads go where they do its job properly. While I’m supper happy with the results, not everything is peaches and cream. Here is the full story, read if you care about your WordPress install.
My first issue started when I found a hidden link on my website that pointed to the following file “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/beian.js,” where the “x” is for an IP address. I freaked out, I initiated call for help in the WordPress.org forums, and immediately people offer to help. After some discussion full of suggestions one of the users suggested to try another theme and voila. For some reason my Simplicity 1.0 from http://www.solostream.com/ was compromised with this bug, I’m not saying that this theme has a bug, maybe my copy was compromised because a “mysql” injection or something else. The truth is that I did not replace the files and try again I just dump the theme.
With fear, doubt, and uncertainty (FUD) in my head I decided to clean out and upgrade “mysql” tables. I went to my host account created a new database, moved only the necessary for my old post to show. Scan briefly for bad behavior on tables, which that alone took my like two hours. Finally, I moved my file one by one, plug-in, the theme I’m using now, photos, etc. Lastly, I started looking for bugs and missing tables within my page, found only about six “mysql” tables that I wanted back from my old install and import them over to my new “mysql.”
I selected the Big Blue theme from http://www.blogohblog.com/; I love the simplicity of it. However, found a problem, every now and them the theme will reset back to the WordPress default theme. I went back to the forums and found a temporary solution; I just had to rename Big Blue as default for the time being. That cover my dilemma for now, even thought I’m still wondering what causes my theme to reset back to default.
Another big change for me was the implementation of NextGen Gallery from http://www.alexrabe.boelinger.com/, that was big because my previous gallery was Gallery2 from http://www.gallery.menalto.com/. I decided to change because Gallery2 is a complicated install, if you want to scan the “mysql” tables or try to fix them, or do an upgrade, trust me is not fun. NextGen is a product in progress; so far, I love the way it looks and hope that its creator keeps working on it to make it even better.
I got “mysql” from 135 tables to 31, upgraded to “mysql5,” and chosen a theme that I really enjoy, all in less than 24 hours; my site now feels snappier and clean. What do you think about my site? What would you change? For questions, suggestions, or comments you can use the form provided with this post. In addition, there is a contact for in the “drop-a-line” tab of this website. Thank you for reading.
I can assure you that I DO NOT place any hidden link on any of my themes, including Simplicity.

By the way, I’m curious where you downloaded the Simplicity theme. Was it form here: http://www.themes.solostream.com/ or somewhere else?
