There is one thing that makes the white MacBook a beautiful machine and that is the whiteness. Clean white surfaces, round corners, beautiful design and of course the Apple logo at the back that lights up when you are using it. But what happens when your MacBook ask you to go out to play and gets dirty? You can tell I have kids. I was at the Apple store and this guy had a MacBook that he bought for his daughter, the poor thing was half white and half “disgusting”. I would swear this guy’s daughter wants to be a car mechanic.
What to do at that point? There are several products on the market to clean your
MacBook and other products to prevent it from getting dirty in the first place. Visit http://www.apple.com/support/macbook/care/ for a generic way to maintain your MacBook but when the job gets tuff here are some other solutions. The fist product to take a look at is iKlear from kleanscreen.com, this product claims to clean the surfaces of your MacBook screen and case, good for preventive maintenance.
Some people have had a good experience with Mr.Clean Magic Eraser, I would say, be very careful but apparently works. Another product mentioned on the web is GlassPlus Wipes, there are reports that this product clean all surfaces of your MacBook with ease. It is very important to note that these products are not endorse by Apple and we need to be very careful when using them as it may cause damage if not use carefully. Search the web for more recommendations the abovementioned are just the ones people recommend the most.
What about preventing the problem? Marware sell a protective “sticker”, the soft, cushion PVC leather like film covers the hand rest to protect it from your natural oils or
pain dirt from your hands. Another company selling a similar solution is ApplePeelz, this time the product is design to protect all the white on your MacBook. Whatever the solution is make sure you follow the instructions carefully or will not have a pleasant experience.
Another way of protecting your MacBook is to have it on a case whenever you are not using it. Visit Axio for some cool cases, also Booqbags.com sell some nice looking cases too. Whatever the “case” may be, choose one and protect your computer when not in use. Lastly, get AppleCare, which will protect you hardware from any disturbing problems, giving you peace of mind at least for 3 years.
