iPod touch Podcatcher
September 7, 2007 in Technology by LwEEs
Geek News Central is paying a bounty of $1,000 to any programmer that creates an iPod touch podcatcher, while the offer expires on Oct 15, we are not set to get any iPod touch until the end of this month. This date different will give you enough time to start coding, but if you want to test you may want to use an iPhone instead. I have to say that this is a great idea, and the specification that the price is asking sets this application free to everyone to use.
- It has to be Open Source
- The ability to easily Install it on the iPod Touch
- The ability for podcasters to Bundle Pre-Built List
- The ability to import OPML files with Podcast Dir List
- The ability to clean up after itself after media is consumed
- The ability to resume downloads when looses connection
- The ability to play, stop, resume media
- The ability to one click subscribe to RSS feeds from the Browser
- The ability to set priority in feed polling
- The ability to navigate any media on device
These specifications were copied from the post they put out on Sept 5, 2007. Anything that has to do with helping the community, I’m in for it. Pass this information to your friends to make sure we all have the opportunity to create a great podcatcher and above all, that we all have the opportunity to use a podcatcher on our iPod touch. While this initiative is very cool, it leaves me wondering if Apple is not working on a podcatcher already, or maybe iTunes WiFi has one built-in already. Either way we win, spread the word and thanks for reading.
